This story is second only to your walk in the desert and the heron! I love this and I want to think it was my coin!!!??? I had a baggie full of them!?? If so, if not, you were meant to find it and keep it and shout to the world that there was a sculptor on the .50 lira...I never noticed that!!! How very very cool! Thanks for sharing! This is so beautiful and poignant. I could see each image of that apron's use as if it was a painting before my eyes and some were of my grandmother...i see the small unperfect apples, green and red and blemished with worm holes but wholesome and organic and perfect for that homemade pie! Mounds of light pea shells ready to be discarded, and Amen that I didn't care then about germs!! Thank you for this lovely post! very charming!

The wonders of a commission, when artistic freedom is allowed to express itself and the appreciation for money in the bank. Poetry only exists after extreme fighting (negotiating and arguing) and Deb's need to communicate precisely and with correct sentence structure - the poetry only exists as a pure accident and stubbornness on my part.
